1924

Adalbert Raps, Pharmacist, founded RAPS on
1 August 1924 in Hamburg and began to specialize in production of seasoning blends and trade.
1943

In 1943 the production premises were moved from Hamburg to Kulmbach/Bavaria.
1951

1951 the success of the company was due to the introduction of saltless seasonings
(at that time a real innovation) as well as Glutalin, the flavour enhancer based on monosodium glutamate.
1965

1965 RAPS was the first seasoning manufacturer to produce their own essential oils and extracts.
1972

1972 the BIOFROST chilled grinding method was invented which allows gentle processing
of the spices and up to 30 % higher flavour yield. In the same year the first decor
seasoning with encapsulated salt was introduced.
This salt is released only at certain temperatures and therefore guarantees that
pre- seasoned meat will not lose meat juices. The "Seasoning Guarantee" for
particular seasonings was introduced: consistent seasoning strength with
every production yield = product safety.
1983

1983 the first MARINOX marinade for value-added meat products was introduced.
1988

1988 RAPS developed the first sausage with vegetable ingredients, the precursor
of today's healthy and nutritious life style.
1992

1992 RAPS invented STABILOTON, the first natural antioxidant.
1993

1993 - RAPS is the first German seasoning manufacturer to receive the
DIN EN ISO 9001 Quality Certificate.
1997

1997 - Commissioning of the new liquid plant development of MARIFIX.
1999

1999 - development of CPF (Concentrated Powder Form).
2000

Further development of CPF and Flavocaps.
2004

Enlargement of the Coating plant (plant III). Increase in capacity by 60-70%.
2005

Current number of employees: 600
Raps possesses at present the BRC-Certificate,
the IFS-Certificate and of course the DIN EN ISO 9001 Quality Certificate.
